Unabridged Audiobook
**Possible Spoilers Below** The story is well written and the characters are, as always, loveable. However, the time line inconsistencies bothered me. The series starts in the year 1973. 8 books later, but only 6 years in the career of Matt Payne, it is now 1999. This is based on the mention of the tv show the Sopranos, which aired in 1999. Also the promotion of Jason Washington to Lieutenant less than a year after making Sergeant. The change of Mayor, Police Commissioner and the District Attorney (who is on her 2nd term as D.A.) between book 7 and 8, a 6 month period, confused me. Are we ever going to find out who killed Police Officer Joseph Magnella from book 3? I know this sound like I didn't like the book, but I actually loved it. I just have a mind that picks up on inconsistencies.
