Summary
Debt of Honor ends as Jack Ryan is confirmed vice president minutes before a mammoth act of terrorism kills the President, most of his cabinet, all but a few members of Congress, the entire Supreme Court and all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Suddenly Ryan is President, which is where Executive Orders begins.

Ryan's responsibilities crush in on him. Where should he begin? He must calm a nation, pacify world leaders, arrange a massive funeral -- while he rebuilds a government as quickly as possible. But that's not all. Enemies abroad and at home see opportunities, and they'll soon present President Ryan with an unimaginable crisis. How will he tackle his greatest challenge ever?

I just finished listening to the complete series for the 4th time in the last 20 years. It is still exciting and attention grabbing.

This is my favorite Tom Clancy novel yet!! Excellent and fast paced storyline. Yet again this is another poor quality recording that is very quiet even at full volume. This has been a regular problem lately, almost as though the base recording was not properly set by audiobooks. I used another service to test this same book and had no volume problems??

One of my favorite Clancy novels ..... and when read/listened to in the current political climate the parallels are striking, in good ways and in not so good ways. Jack Ryan is a fiction, but he’s sure a fiction worth studying.

As a fan of the Jack Ryan saga, it's a must listen. It's not the best of the series, but it's still good writing, interesting plot, and it's a really cool thought experiment in "what if a normal person became President of the United States instead of a politician." If you are considering this book then you almost certainly have read everything before this one. if you haven't read ever preceding Jack Ryan novel then go read those first, they are necessary for understanding what's going on here. I like the narrator, he's done a few of the Jack Ryan novels and his stoic, almost drill Sargent manner of speaking does lend itself well to the material. At first I wasn't sure if I liked him, but he has grown on me and I appreciate what he brings to the table.

Clancy is always a good read. As I drive for a living, it turns out I get more out of his books by listening to audio.

As always, Clancy just gets better with age. The book is excellent, the storyline is relevant, and "President" Ryan makes you wish for the real deal.

Executive orders is a great book! I have listened to many Tom Clancy audio books and this is my favorite! Tragically, the abridged version (which this is) is not even the bare bones of the story. I listened to the abridged version and left it feeling confused. Later, I got the unabridged version and learned that the abridged version was missing 85% of the story! This has become one of my favorite books by Tom Clancy. Don't cheat yourself, Ask SimplyAudioBooks.com for the Unabridged CD Version by Books on Tape! I love this story so much I plan on buying the Unabridged CD Version and keeping it for myself.(And that's saying something)
