Unabridged Audiobook
Excellent, thoughtful, emotional, intellectual, gritty, depressing, humorous, touching. The parade novel within the novel was difficult, disgusting, infuriorating, and too long. I almost quit during that middle portion and was at first confused when it went on for so long. But I am so glad I stuck with it. I found Everett's descriptions of human behavior comforting, affirming, and discouraging. The narrator, Sean Crisden, was tremendous. One of the best 3 narrators I've ever heard. Jim Dale (Harry Potter) and Lorelei King (Stephanie Plum series) being the others. Crisden is so talented!!! I will be looking for more of his work.Looking forward to seeing the movie. A shame it took 23 years for the movie to come about but glad this novel is now getting the attention it deserves. Love the writing and the story.
