Summary
From the New York Times bestselling author of Practice Makes Perfect and The Cheat Sheet comes an expanded edition of The Enemy—a laugh-out-loud romance about rekindling old flames, with a never-before-seen chapter.

Enemies should never get a second chance. But this one might…

It’s been twelve years since June Broaden has seen her high school enemy (and secret crush), Ryan Henderson. That’s a long time to hold a grudge over some petty feud, but the sharp memory of him dangling a kiss at graduation, then pulling away at the last second, has fueled many angry fantasies since. Now’s her chance to get even.

Ryan, along with most of her high school class, is back in town for her best friend’s wedding, and June is eager to show the former bully exactly what he missed out on. A lot has changed since their high school days; June is the Southern queen of gourmet donuts now, not to mention one of the most desired bachelorettes in her small town.

What’s she’s not expecting, though, is for Ryan to show up looking like Adonis and touting his own career success as the youngest chef to ever win three Michelin stars. How dare he try to one up her revenge plot? Luckily June never backs down from a challenge…

lovely and just the right amount of tension

This was a cute, funny story of high school enemies that really weren't later getting together later. The problems the characters had felt real and relatable. The narrators did a good job, especially in the scenes when the main characters were exasperated with one another.

I started off not sure if I would listen the whole way through, but I'm glad I did. The story was cute, funny, and progressed in an unpredictable way. I really liked it!

Uninteresting and rather silly characters

I believe it to be predictable and soppy. Cute if romantic comedy is your thing.

At first, it was tough to listen to the narration but I later grew more comfortable with the voice of both Narrators. The story line is predictable yet enticing enough to keep wanting more of the story. I would recommend for others to read this audiobook.

Who knew that a small southern town could have so much drama! The banter back and forth between June and Ryan is hilarious. Although, I will say I did get a little peeved about June always squirming her way out of doing things just because of one previous relationship. I think there could have also been a little more spice thrown into this one instead of constantly play fighting back and forth just to one up the other. Regardless, the romance was fun, but it's not my absolute favorite.

The book was predictable, but a good & fun read. I was always anxious to get back in the car to continue reading. Narrator took me a while to get used to. She was very sharp at the beginning, but got better as the book went on.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s somewhat predictable, but Sarah Adams writing keeps you engaged and laughing out loud. I love how the author brings in characters from a passbook. One of my favorite books of Sarah Adams is titled When in Rome and she had me smiling when the Character from that book, Ray Rose, showed up in this book. Thank you, Sarah Adams, for writing, lovable, laughable and very enjoyable books.

Predictable high school crush misunderstanding plot, easy quick listen. The narrators were decent and made due with the content.
