Retribution is in his blood, too. Now, he and Blaze will be united in the blood of the guilty. Tonight, vengeance is theirs. Dead by Twilight by Maggie Shayne Bloodsuckers may be an accepted minority but one of them is getting away with murder. Until a female vamp teams with a mortal detective to end the killing spree. Now the night belongs to them-and so does every pleasure and danger lurking in the shadows. Cimarron Spirit by Lori Herter While excavating an Anasazi ruin, archeologist Annie Carmichael uncovers the resting place of a centuries-old vampire who finds in Annie the liberating mate he has longed for. Dark Crime - Christine Feehan.  This was my first time reading a book from this particular series but not my first time with this author. I love her Shadow Rider Series so I thought this could be just as good. For this to be a novela in the middle of a series, it actually was pretty good. I love the concept that vampires are not actually the beautiful ones in this series not that they are rotting bodies who have lost their souls because they choose to kill sand the Carpathians are what we usually think of as the gorgeous paranormals that drink blood but do not kill Innocents and still have their souls. That was pretty cool. The heroine was a badass chick and loved to fight, she wasn't a damsel but her friend Emilynn annoyed the mess out of me. She just stayed in trouble and it got annoying because every time she opened her mouth, you just knew trouble was coming. There was a lot of violence and a lot of heat between the heroes. Not bad.  Dead by Twilight - Maggie Shayne.  I actually liked this story and sadly, this little teaser left me wanting more. More with these two people. I wanted to find out what happens with the two cops/vamps squad and find it who was watching her in the window. I liked the deterrent style for writing vampires. No extending fangs but still has no reflection. I was really interested to find out about the vampires that hunt those that kill Innocents.  Cimarron Spirit - Lori Herter. Liked this story and the twists with how the vampire was made. Really cool. I was really trying to figure out why the ranch owner was REALLY trying too rush the whole wedding. It seemed like there was something more there. But since he was a major douche canoe, I got over that quickly. I wished it was a longer story. I felt left hanging. Like I need so much more from this story.

I have never been disappointed with any of Christine Feehan's Dark Series. She has always given a good story with little side trips that make it more fun to read or listen to. Her books are so good that they can be listened to over and over, Of course with my OCD I have to start with book 1 and follow in order to the end of the series. I hate getting a book out of order when reading a series. I put her in the same category as Jean M Auel and Clive Cussler.
