An incredible book. I have not read most of Elie Wiesel's books( this is my second one) but I found out that he is a great author. I could put myself in the position of the character. Especially good is the concept of G-d that Elie Wiesel's character has - one of terrible punishment. Accordingly, G-d is one that does not mind people being massacred or little 12 year old girls being raped. The book, indeed, makes the reader think in what world do we live in. At first we want independence, and to be fully independent it presupposes that G-d should not be involved with us, but after all we want dependence from Him in our affairs. Elie Wiesel asks with his book" What G-d are you G-d,why do you not help us?" and G-d answers " Make up your mind Humans, what type of G-d do you want? P.S What type of Humans you are, but this is small matter compared with you accusing me of my governship of the World. I have delegated everything to you, Humans. Your prayers for Independence and freedom of thought reached me a long time ago - during the Haskala to be precise".
