Unabridged Audiobook
I loved this story. The narrative was fresh and compelling, and although some of the plot was guessable, that didn't detract from the storytelling. Sara's flaws made her a well-rounded, believable individual. A nice touch was the arrogance of the modern day doctors mirroring that of Silas. Supporting characters were more than just incidental; larger-than-life Belle, (I have an Australian teacher-friend, who, while slim and fit, reminds me of her...) Esse, the cats... the use of the crows was very cleverly done, and the children were lovely. The acknowledgement of native lore was fascinating. The unresolved tension between Drew and Sara worked well, and I really, really, enjoyed this story.
