Great book. Narrator was terrific. From the front cover to the end of the story you won’t want to put the book down. The scenery and characters are vividly portrayed.

“Coming Home to Island House” is an extremely well written book. The characters were well developed and interesting. I was moved to tears in some parts of the book, and laughed out loud in others so the author did her job as an evocative writer! I look forward to reading other books by this author. The narrator was amazing! She played all the roles and did a magnificent job!

Appalling! Is this what passes for fiction these days! Nothing happens. The whole story is just an intrapsychic picture of each characters emotional state, and how it connects with their family members. This is the first book on this app that I have just given up on. Just horrible!

I think the story was way to long and really wasn’t interesting until towards the end.

Enjoyable, but rather pointless, no real plot driver / objective and no ending to speak of. Narrator was wonderful.

Such a good story and good value for money! I’ve never read an Erica James before but her narrative and depth of characters was delightful. A new favourite author! You feel part of the story and feel the love through difficult war-torn Britain.

I couldn't stop listening. I listened during times when I should have been doing other things. Tender book, that had me crying at times, but still couldn't stop listening. Narration was fantastic!

I enjoyed this book. The author does a great job drawing us in to the lives of the characters. I did feel like there were some loose ends that needed to be addressed.

I thought this most compelling. All of the characters were well drawn and the action, with WWI as a backdrop, held my interest. I did dislike the narrator’s portrayal of Allegra. I winced whenever I heard Allegra sound like Natasha in the Bullwinkle cartoons.

A nice escapist tale. Pulled me along without making heavy demands on my brain—great before-bed read. I was sorry when it ended as I felt I had come to know and root for the various characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I totally felt like I knew what everything looked like! The narrator was very good. Smooth voice and she did a great job with different accents and voices so you knew who was speaking. I didn’t want to stop listening! :)

How excellent! I didn't want the book to end and I literally protested out loud when it ended. It could've been a hundren or two hundred pages longer!! It's my first time to listen to anything written by Erica James and it was such a nice surprise. At first I thought the story was going to be really predictable and banal but from the second part of the story, the story was nothing but unexpected surprises.

Loved this. Lots of rich characters, just downloaded letter from the past which seems to be a later part of the story. Hope it's as lovely!

I enjoyed the book. She developed different characters that you came to loathe and ones that you grew fond of they way they were portrayed. it appeared to me that the portrayal seemed pretty realistic for a member of the upper class during 1939 and 1940 as England entered the War. The narrator was good; however, I got confused sometime by the different British and Italian accents. I think four stars is appropriate as I looked forward to my walk everyday while listening to this book.
