It was a good story but I didn't appreciate the bible and Christianity put in a bad light. Sir was a maniac not a christian. There are cults out there that do crazy things. Just because a person says he is a christian doesn't make him one. I also felt that patriotism was put in a bad light. I saw both of these things as a political jabs and will not be reading any more of Nora Roberts books. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Loved it very exciting

Entertaining with good doses of Montana atmosphere, family, romance and crime/suspense. Characterisations are perhaps too stereotypical/timeworn which leads to some predictability.

Love this story. Couldn't stop listening and the narrator was great. Felt like I was there looking at what they were seeing.

This was the second time reading . Very few Robert’s have failed me. Great plot twist.

Very interesting novel! The story kept me interested the entire time. I was especially interested in Alice's story. I have read a few Nora Roberts books and will continue to do so! Would definitely reccomend.

As with most of Nora Roberts stories, it is well-written and moves along smoothly. The story lines are almost too many, but she did manage to not allow them to get tangled up.

Intriguing plot with generations of strong female characters, loving, supportive, yet independent. Although the Bodine family was close they were not above fear, regret, and mistakes. They were human. Loved it.

I loved the book, it was very entertaining. I’d just wish that a female narrator did the female voices and a male narrator did the male voices. Otherwise, it’s a little hard to differentiate, especially for someone like me that has a hearing problem.

This was my first Nora Roberts book in a long time. Loved this book. The narrator was awesome! I am new to listening to books. Love to read. Because of traveling so much recently started listening instead of reading. So glad I started this. My trips are fun now.

Brilliant read! read this for the first time about 8 months ago now and enjoyed that much that I've read it another 3 times since. I've also purchases a further 6 of Noras books since aswell. I do love a good book and I'm a sucker for a happy ending :)

I started reading during a break at work and had such a hard time putting it down. I could not wait to pick it up again. I read until bed time and still couldn't put it down so stayed awake and finally finished it in time to go back to work, I don't do that often as I was a mess for next two days. I laughed, cried, hated and loved with this book. Nora Roberts is a fabulous author and Elisabeth Rodgers made the story come alive.

I've read almost everything Nora Roberts has written, and I love her material. While this story had the same outstanding character development and interesting plot as her other books, it was one of the "darker" ones she's written. Maybe it was because the fantastic performer (reader) brought it too close to real. I actually had to finish listening at a much faster pace than I'd prefer because I needed to get through it. The antagonist was a powerful, mean, horrible person. The performer was so good that I got knots in my stomach when listening to these sections. As always, Nora Roberts wrote an excellent story with compelling characters...just a bit too dark for my taste.

I really liked the characters in this book especially the Main characters of Bodine and Alice. It has been awhile since I listened to a Nora Roberts book I really enjoyed this one!

This was an excellent story, I was doing something boring at work at this book made it go by fast.

The book is not bad; It's well written and enjoyable. However, I could have used a bit less of the romance and more of the suspense. I would have liked the author to have shown us more from the point of view of Alice's character.

Very well done and the narration was just as good. A little hard to listen to the torture Alice went through but good ending.

Oh my gosh this is by far the best Nora Roberts ever! I loved it! Kept me in suspense until the end. Had some hard to take moments and some funny moments too. Cal is the sweetest guy ever and Miss Fancy is hilarious!
