Unabridged Audiobook
Loved the history that was the backdrop of this story. I would strongly recommend this book, however, for me it was my least favorite of the trilogy.
The story is fantastic. My only complaint is with regard to the two guys that stayed in Antwerp - Carlos sees his painting destroyed about half way into the novel - and that's it, we hear from them again very briefly as old men, but they played such a big part t the beginning of the story that there should have been more to it. But it's really a minor complaint. If you read the prior two books by all means read this one but it acts independently over the other 2 so you can read it alone as well. The narration, on the other hand, sucks. All of the male characters sound similar. All the male English characters are basically done in the same voice. To keep using this guy with the huge number of narrators out there is doing the book a disservice.
How I became so excited about churches I will never know… so good
Another amazing epic story based on historical fact by Ken Follett! Settle in and give it a go. It’s fabulous!
Another great book by Ken Follett
Expertly written and well paced, keeps you turning the pages, another classic from Ken Follett.
I disagree regarding the narration. Sixth or seventh book I’ve heard with John Lee narration. He is now an integral part of the trilogies. I was so excited to see that he was still narrating. I hope there is a fourth set in the New World.
I love this series! This book did not disappoint! Narrator was excellent!
I really enjoyed this book and liked the historical setting. He made the historical characters so human and believable. I had some difficulty with the gory details that occurred so often. It brought us to deep reality of the pain, suffering and injustices but was not a relaxing experience. I was impressed by the reader. He made effective voice and tone changes for male, female and language accent for the various nationalities
