Unabridged Audiobook
An insightful look into perhaps the most influential gentleman over the span late 19th and a large portion of the 20th century. One movie is not enough. His life could be 6 movies. Earnest, driven, a vocal advocate for his belief a leader who inspired confidence in others. Willing to stand for what he believed regardless of the consequences. Willing to forgive. Often wrong but never in doubt. Worth all 50 hours.
Great read, enjoyed it thoroughly
One of the finest books ever written about my hero, Winston Churchill. Add to this the fine narration and you get a perfect understanding and sense of the English Bulldog along with his many idiosyncratic habits as well as endearing ones. A masterpiece of history that’s accurate, unflinching and eloquent. Winston would be pleased.-Lori Zambrana McIntosh, R.M.T., M.T.I. C.M.A.
I agree with another reviewer that stated an editor was needed! I did not need to know what Churchill ate on every trip he took. I enjoyed most Of the 50 hours and I learned a lot of British history. I thought the narrator did a splendid job and Increased my enjoyment Of the book!
This a very comprehensive study of Churchill. The narrator is excellent; I chuckled out loud many times. I highly recommend it-and was sorry it had to end
An excellent book that was enhanced by the narrator’s skills. I give it my highest possible recommendation.
Wonderfully written, beautifully narrated, an incisive and encompassing biography that illuminates one of the greatest UK leaders — maybe one of the greatest leaders of any Western democracy — in history.
This book could really use an editor. No detail, no matter how trivial or inconsequential, seems to be omitted. If a condensed version comes out, please, go for it. On the other hand, while begrudging the time I could have been spending reading other books, I did enjoy being immersed in the world of Churchill. An amazing man, and an amazing life!
My new favorite book of all time!
