From beloved author Nora Roberts comes the #1 New York Times bestseller about shattering loss and shocking discovery—set in a small town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains…

When five-thousand-year-old human bones are found at a construction site in the small town of Woodsboro, the news draws archaeologist Callie Dunbrook out of her sabbatical and into a whirlwind of adventure, danger, and romance.

While overseeing the dig, she must try to make sense of a cloud of death and misfortune that hangs over the project—fueling rumors that the site is cursed. She must cope with the presence of her irritating—but irresistible—ex-husband, Jake. And when a stranger claims to know a secret about her privileged Boston childhood, she must question her own past as well...

Good book, except cd 12 had a lot of bumps toward the end and it was hard to listen to.

I enjoyed the book very much; however, the last 2 CD's skipped terribly and I missed alot of the ending . Those CD's should be replaced. I was very disappointed.

One of the worst books I have ever listened to. Could not even get past the second disk. Poorly written with uninteresting characters.

Great book! Probably one of the best I have read from Nora Roberts. the outcome was a shock. I foolishly thought I solved the mystery 1/3 of the way thru the book. the characters grabbed my heart and would not let go. Super read.

The narrator does a terrible job of using different male voices; they all sound like the same gruff-voiced old man with a southern accent. It was also way too long and drawn out; the story was decent enough, but an abridged version would be preferred.

One of the best stories I've read or heard. Never boring or slow.

This book was enjoyable but my husband and I both felt the story could have been told in half the time.

I really enjoyed this story, but I hated, and I mean hated the reader. I almost returned it after the first 5 minutes. I'm glad I didn't, but it took some real getting used to.

Great story but the reader is just horrid - the men all sound like stupid morons and for people who live in Maryland they have accents closer to Arkansas. I stopped at disc 4 and went to the library to find the paperback.

Interesting story with some tantalizing twists. Definitely keeps your interest. Some areas drag on a bit much though (like the family drama scenes) but other than that EXCELLENT.

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters were well developed and the twist at the end was believable. The love stories were predictable, but the mystery was pretty clever. I felt that Bernadette Quiqley did a fine job of reading as I could distinguish the characters easily.

I find that Nora Roberts books speak for themselves. They excellent. This particular audio began slow. In the 6-9 disk set the story has improved greatly and you are contantly guessing who done it?? The reader. I'm really not fond of. Nora Roberts could have found better. All her characters sound the same. She is very breathy. All in all the book is quite good.

This was a great Nora Roberts mystery. My only complaint was the narrator. She tried to vary her voice for each character, which is admirable; however, I think I would have just preferred her to read the story. If you can get over the narrator, you'll find the story enjoyable.

I am waiting on the last set of cd's now and I hate having to wait. This is one of the author's best. Sometimes the reader sounds like she's just reading groups of words but it is still great. The story is one of those that you think about for days after you finish and wonder if it was really fiction or really happened. Can't wait to finish it!!!

I enjoyed the story-line, but the reader irritated me at times. Her voice characters didn't impress me. The last disc of the set kept skipping, so I got to the end and missed some chapters in getting there. But the book was enjoyable and I found myself sitting in my driveway finishing a chapter. I loved the characters and the way that their lives inter-twined. Would listen to another Nora Roberts book.

I loved this book. I think it is one of the best that Nora Roberts has ever written. There were many different little stories within the main story which I really enjoyed.

I enjoyed the book, however was surprised at the ending. I'm not sure what I was expecting. Overall it was a good read and kept my attention.

Excellent story in the tradition of Nora Roberts' books. The characters had depth and were realistic. The plot kept me guessing what was going to try to stop the dig next.
