Unabridged Audiobook
Baseball in the Garden of Eden, written by John Thorn and narrated by Joe Barrett is a gem of a book for baseball fanatics who enjoy the history and lore of this special game. One can hear very quickly that Barrett loves the game and clearly loves the still running debate, "who invented baseball?", as his passion and curiosity of the subject comes through his voice. Thorn is a wonderful writer who keeps the reader engaged by seasoning his story with little side stories that are interesting and fascinating. This book is most definitely for readers who 'care very much if they were to step on the white foul line' as they are going on and coming off the field. For those who do not know what that means... no need for you to read 'Baseball in the Garden of Eden', you won't enjoy the book. To the fan who understands extra innings doesn't really start with a player on second base. The ongoing debate as to where baseball originated is a book that you'll want to read every season prior to your home opener. Why you ask? Because... it's tradition!
