The New York Times bestseller that inspired the new season of hit original drama series BOSCH

'A stunner, superbly paced.' - Esquire

Detective Harry Bosch is on a harrowing journey into a high-profile murder case -- and darkness...

An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive--and the dead man's enemies inside the LAPD are so numerous--that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are super heating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

'Engrossing...it just works perfectly.' - Houston Chronicle

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

One of the better Bosch novels. Ready for the next one!

The story was good, “booktrack” music is terrible, narration on this book was not good! The music in the background all the time really detracts from the content of the book!

This book is a great story as usual with this series. However, who decided to have a musical track playing during the entire book? It’s UN-listenable!

The background music ruins the book

Great book and story, the background noises and music is seriously annoying. The narration was irritating in that the voices all changed soo much from books 1-5. Edgar had a deep African American voice for the first five stories, now his voice is mild and middle range. Bosch sounds like he's trying to imitate Batman!

this is a Big time thriller! I don't understand the other negative reviews the music is not distracting at all. the booktrack only enhances the mystery.

I gave up after listening for 15 minutes. I could not suffer through the constant background hum/noise/music/whatever it is. It is annoying, distracting, and literally causes a pain in the ear. No, I am not talking about something like a theme music during the first few minutes. This is a constant background hum/music all through the book. I kid you not!

Love the story. Hate the music in the background. Narrator is below average compared to others in previous Bosch books.
