Just. Wow. The characters arcs that have been set up in the previous novels have completely paid off, this alone made the book amazing.
The plot took an interesting turn and gave peeks towards what is going on behind the scenes as the plot moves forward.
The pieces are moving in place and I cannot wait to watch in unravel in the two last books of the series
The book is taking a deeper dig into lore and is setting it up nicely for the last two books.
I'm a fan of Michael Sullivan's stuff even though some of it can feel "hokey" at times. However, while I was so excited about this series, this book was pretty slow moving.
Honestly, I did not know what I expected. I enjoy Michael Sullivan's books, but sometimes, it feels like we're hearing a story unfold too slowly.
I love his slow burns because everyone is positioned well for when the action takes place, but it feels like not nearly as much was done in this story. The worst part is it feels as though it would be accurately summed up in two sentences. This one thing happens so x,y,z react.
It is by no means bad work though. It was wonderfully written and beautifully read. I look forward to the next story just not as much as I was.
