Summary
In this #1 New York Times bestselling thriller, a burglar, Luther Whitney, breaks into a Virginia mansion, and witnesses a brutal crime involving the president—a man who believes he can get away with anything.

In a heavily guarded mansion in the Virginia countryside, professional burglar and break-in artist Luther Whitney is trapped behind a two-way mirror. What he witnesses destroys his faith not only in justice, but in all he holds dear.

What follows is an unthinkable abuse of power and criminal conspiracy, as a breathtaking cover-up is set in motion by those appointed to work for one of the most important people in the world -- the President of the United States.

Very good, action packed, fast moving. All the things you want from a crime thriller.

Seen movie many times first time I read the book. I prefer the movie at least main character does get killed off half way through. Movie and book don’t seem to have much in common. The narrator was good.

The combination of Scott Brick (I forgot to check for the reader name. Hard to believe) and David Baldacci apparently thinking he was getting paid by the word, I could not even get through the first CD. So I am stuck listening to the news. My time in the car is a nightmare. I hope my next selection is better.

This story is a nail-biting, page-turning thriller that weaves the key characters together in too many ways to imagine. Starting with an ingenious burglary of a country home belonging to an enormously wealthy business icon, the story is rapidly launched into a whirlwind tale of violence, murder, deceit and intrigue. The characters are very well drawn. I felt as though I could picture each key character in my mind and know if he/she were likely to be friend or foe as the story progressed. Stellar action scenes were artfully woven into the book. The novel has become a favorite of mine The narrator has a lazy, drawling voice that does not really fit with the tight action in this book. The voice is clear and easily understood which is important but the tone just missed the mark for me.

Better than some of his others. It didn't get "stuck" at the end. Ended with appropriate timing and interest.

Great Book - bad choice for narrator. Scott Brick just has the wrong voice for this thriller. He is way to "sexy" a voice and this book called for a voice with much more fluctuation. Took me 10 CD's before I could forget the narrator. Really spoiled it for me. But the book is awesome

John Grisham at his usual. I couldn't listen fast enough. You could guess the ending, but was exciting enough to keep my ears glued to the radio!!
