Summary
With the same profound insight, simplicity, and practical wisdom that propelled The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People to worldwide acclaim, Stephen R. Covey now focuses on the primary concern of society today—family.

True Happiness does not come from possessions or fame; it comes from the quality of your relationships with the people you love and respect. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families will help you find the answers to such common family challenges as:

-How can you move from a “me” to a “we” spirit in the family when almost everything around us rewards “me”?
-How can you have quality time for the family when both parents (or the only parent) are working simply to keep food on the table?
-How can you build harmony in the family when everyone is criticizing and putting one another down?
-How can you get your children to do their jobs and homework cheerfully, without being reminded or bribed?

The only reason the book itself has one star cause it's not word for word from the book. it like a summary of each chapter and how that going to help people who must write a paper for it and struggle reading the book. I was hoping to listen and read along with the book. but instead I'm more lost than ever.

I liked this book and got some great concepts that I can use in any "people" situation, not just with family. I didn't find that there were "Seven" habits specifically, but that was okay. I wasn't hanging on every word like some of the other books I have gotten, but he wove some great things into the message. I took notes - which I haven't done before - so that I could use them in work situations.

Great book! A lot like the 7 Habits of highly effective people but I still enjoyed it.

Interesting and inspiring. Includes both personal family experiences and reused anecdotes from his other works. The "7" in the title, and the list format, is very loosely followed in this work. Seemed to be more of a marketing tie-in. At the end, I could not name the 7 habits. There was not enough emphasis and repetition for an audiobook format.

This book was good, although I found it to be organized strangely. I did not feel that the concepts were presented in a straightforward fashion. The concepts were, however, good. I would recommend renting it if you are interested in things to keep in mind when you want to treat your family well.

There was a lot of good things in this book but I often found myself having a difficult time paying attention.

The author's voice was so nasal and accented, and the discussion so monotonous, that I had to stop listening. I couldn't go on (though he did...and on...and on...)

I wish I had the stamina to listen but it became very monotonous and would lull me to sleep.

Had some good points, but was very repetitive - I found myself skipping over sections.

Very good. Very informative. Covey uses good illustrations, personal stories, and a great deal of wisdom. If you've listened to any other of the "7 Habits" books, you will notice, however, a re-packaging of the same material, stories, testimonials, and so forth -- still effective, just not too much fresh material. None the less, his concepts repeated over several writings does help them sink in a little more each listen.

This was a very good series and well worth the time to listen and relisten. Dr Covey has some very good ideas and makes the book interesting through his use of personal stories to make his point. The one criticism of the book that I had is that Dr. Covey's voice was at times hard for me to listen to. It made me sleepy.
