Unabridged Audiobook
Just love Sean Pratt's narration. He is the best I've come across. I'd buy the audio just because of this! A great recap for me as a therapist. I'll listen to this many times in the future.
It was like reading a concise dictionary. Since I'm not a therapist I found it very interesting and boring, depending on the subject.
A well constructed synopsis of key theorists and movements. Presented in an objective way and bringing a contemporary context to different works. Great attempt at synthesising work which so often is seen through a binary lens. Beneficial to both students and experienced practitioners as well as the general public
Would like to listen it again and again
Great overview of 50 books! Really enjoyed listening to it
a great listen!
Well written and read. Never less than interesting. Often very enlightening. Good chapter length. Maybe too many of them for the audio format, since each is unrelated to the next.
It‘s a nice overview over some of the fields/authors in psychology but some aspects don’t seem up to date. For instance, it quotes a book about the differences of the male and female brain and presents this as the prooven cause of gender differences while leaving out countless studies in social psychology that show how girls and boys are treated very differently even when they are still infants, which influences how these infants brains will be shaped. It‘s still an interesting and well researched book.
Great overview of the whole field of Psychology.
This book covers some of most popular and insights of the entire psychological books. Learnt a lot from it from summaries of the best books on the topic
Life changing!!
The history of psychology. Not what I was hoping for though I should have expected it.
interesting topics
Really helpful well worth the time to read
Exactly what it says it is. A good way to start into psychology (maybe a little knowledge of the subject is needed) or to learn about new unfamiliar works that paved the way. Recommended!
the condensed versions of multiple books was really interesting.
Very informative. This is a great compilation. Lots of other books I now want to read. Easy to listen to as well.
Informative piece of compilation. Got some good research directions from it. Great narration and easy to listen to.
This is an fascinating summary of the 50 classics. After listening to it, one feels one has wasted time by not reading these classic. Sean Pratt is an excellent narrator. His voice and style makes it even more wanting. From Start till end, one feel the resolutions to read most of these classics. It would be great of Sean Pratt can read some of these classics for us.
So many 3 letter organisations. Really enlightening book. A must read.
An amazing insight in modern psychology by compiling over 50 books with just their most thoughtful analyses
