Summary
In 2204, humanity is expanding into the wider galaxy in leaps and bounds. Cutting-edge technology of linked jump gates has rendered most forms of transportation-including starships-virtually obsolete. Every place on Earth, every distant planet humankind has settled, is now merely a step away from any other. And all seems wonderful-until a crashed alien spaceship of unknown origin is found on a newly located world eighty-nine light-years from Earth, carrying a cargo as strange as it is horrifying. To assess the potential of the threat a high-powered team is dispatched to investigate. But one of them may not be all they seem . . .

Bursting with tension and big ideas, Salvation is the first book of an all-new series that highlights the inventiveness of an author at the top of his game.

15 hours into the book and I still don't know what the story is. The timeline shifts often and I don't know why. The narrators accents are terrible, speech is often choppy. I still have about four hours to go so there's hope. I'll revise this review if things change.

WOW, very unique! It felt like several different stories and it jumped around a lot so I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I was very wrong. It was SO worth it for the ending where it all came together! It all makes sense now, very good!

Very difficult to follow the story, author really is all over the place. And it doesn’t help with the narrator’s poor accent impressions.

took me a while to get into this book now I've listened to it three or four times and thoroughly enjoy world the author creates.

A listener can't miss with John Lee behind the microphone! However, not even Lee could save Peter on this one. It drones on for hours and hours. Like others have commented, What the %&*$! is going on here? I still don't what the plot is.

Cant go wrong with a Peter F. Hamilton and John Lee work. A little bit of work getting through the first part, but it grows and sucks you in.
