Unabridged Audiobook
the book was wonderfully done. of course it was heartbreaking but I think the choice of narrator, her tone, the steady way she delivered the book, I think it was intentional.... keeping with the idea of how that woman who have tried to be, trying to keep something for the children in such a depraved reality.
The reader made me feel like I was the third grade again.
Following the story was informative as well as heartbreaking. I’ve never read a book about Auschwitz before that concentrated on the Gypsy population that was there. The historical details in this account were well researched and impressive. My only negative comment is the use of modern day terms, slang, and idioms by a character that lived decades before these terms were used. For example, “zombie“, “flying under the radar”, etc. But I still recommend this book.
Beautiful book but the narrator sounded like she was reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears ... not a fit at all for the story or intensity . Made it very hard to listen but the story was compelling and well written
Good engaging read.
