Summary
The harrowing, true account from the brave men on the ground who fought back during the Battle of Benghazi.

13 Hours presents, for the first time ever, the true account of the events of September 11, 2012, when terrorists attacked the US State Department Special Mission Compound and a nearby CIA station called the Annex in Benghazi, Libya. A team of six American security operators fought to repel the attackers and protect the Americans stationed there. Those men went beyond the call of duty, performing extraordinary acts of courage and heroism, to avert tragedy on a much larger scale. This is their personal account, never before told, of what happened during the thirteen hours of that now-infamous attack.

13 Hours sets the record straight on what happened during a night that has been shrouded in mystery and controversy. Written by New York Times bestselling author Mitchell Zuckoff, this riveting book takes readers into the action-packed story of heroes who laid their lives on the line for one another, for their countrymen, and for their country.

13 Hours is a stunning, eye-opening, and intense book--but most importantly, it is the truth. The story of what happened to these men--and what they accomplished--is unforgettable.

These guys were warriors. Proves the glaring missteps that certainly could have been avoided to save lives. Haven't seen the movie, but as they always say the book is better. True again in this case.

Good book for those who enjoy the non-fiction narrative combat genre. (e.g Blackhawk Down, etc). Well narrated. Weak movie. Read / listen to the book instead.

The book gives the detail that the movie could not in the time allowed. A fantastic account of what these brave former military combat veterans and CIA staff did to protect what the US government did not care to protect. God bless this country with those that are brave enough to stand up and defend what the rest of the country would rather run away from. Without brave Americans like those at this forsaken outpost, we will become a footnote of history. 'A country that had great promise but threw it away because of petty self interests.'

Great narration and storytelling of the tragic events in Benghazi. The American security operators were all heroic and deserved better back up. The narration was easy to listen to and hard to stop listening to. Highly recommended.

Many surprises about what really happened. If you want to understand how we, as a country behave from a leadership perspective, this book is a must read. If you question authority - remember the '60s and '70s - read this book. If you are a child of the 2000's pick up your smartphone and tweet or facebook your peers

Very informative and full of action. The introduction gave a very good background of the events, and the content of the book reemphised to me how slowly our goverrment can act in emergency situations.
